Title: Sustainable Overlay District (SOD) Methodology
University of North Carolina at Charlotte students will create a sustainable plan for a run-down suburban strip mall. Through public meetings involving everyone from residents, developers, and community organizers, the students hope to create a plan for the area that includes social and ecological factors crucial to the long-term sustainability of Charlotte. The design plan will act as a model for experimental and integrative zoning plans in the future.
