Title: Waste Information Modeling (WIM) for Construction of the Built Environment
University of North Carolina at Charlotte students are building a software module for CATIA, a Building Information Modeling software package, which can incorporate non-toxic industrial waste products into the architectural design process. The project will enable architects to use non-toxic industrial waste in their designs which can result in reduced construction costs and less construction waste in landfills.
