Title: On-Bike Automated Bike Share System
A team of students from the Georgia Institute of Technology are upgrading the wireless communications and information technology system of Georgia Tech’s Bike Share system. The upgrade will identify usage patterns and supply and demand hotspots which will be translated into availability information for the bike-sharer. Having a responsive, accurate system to identify available bicycles will make bicycling more popular as an alternative means of transportation around campus. The system could potentially be adopted by the city of Atlanta.
