Title: Arsenic Removal and Ecologically Safe Containment of Arsenic-waste: A Sustainable Solution for Arsenic Crisis in Cambodia
A team of students from Lehigh University will provide arsenic-safe water to villagers while providing ecologically safe containment of arsenic-laden sludge. The will use regenerable adsorbents to capture the arsenic. Reuse of adsorbent media will allow significant reduction in the volume of arsenic-sludge which will be contained in an ecologically safe manner without further possibility of arsenic leaching into soil or groundwater. The project will provide arsenic-safe water to nearly 500 arsenic-affected villagers.
