Title: Sun, Bottles and Beeswax: Local Solutions for Clean Water Using Solar Disinfection
A team of students at Appalachian State University will develop a method to disinfect water for drinking in reusable plastic using solar energy. They will also develop a re-usable beeswax indicator that will confirm that sufficient temperatures have been attained for disinfection. This combination will enable the local communities to have clean drinking water, save money and reduce their waste.
