Lisa Jo Melnyk

Title: Research Chemist

EPA Division: Microbiological and Chemical Exposure Assessment Research Division

EPA Branch: Chemical Exposure Research Branch

Narrative:
Dr. Melnyk’s research has aimed at improving the understanding of exposure of contaminants to humans specifically through the oral route. Most recently, she has focused on modeling excess dietary exposure of pesticides caused by activities during consumption and protocol development for dietary sample collection on a community level. Her work addresses the need to better understand young children’s aggregate and cumulative exposures and risk in their community and to provide tools to reduce risk and improve public health and well-being.
