GED Researcher Honored with Office of Water Award
Fred Genthner of NHEERL's Gulf Ecology Division (GED) Ecosystem Assessment Branch was one of the members of the Forum on Environmental Measurements (FEM) team who received the 2011 Office of Water's Achievement in Science and Technology Award (Bronze Medal). This award recognized the team’s skilled, coordinated, and sustained efforts in producing a new Agency guidance document titled "Method Validation of U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Microbiological Methods of Analysis." This document establishes what constitutes the minimum level of validation and peer review before methods are issued by the Agency.
