AED To Host Tour and Provide Assistance for Webelo Scouts
As part of its outreach and education activities, NHEERL’s Atlantic Ecology Division (AED) in Narragansett, RI, will host a facility tour and provide technical assistance with the Scientist Activity Merit Badge requirements for 8 to 10 Webelo Scouts during the week of April 16, 2012. The scouts, along with their leaders and parents, will hear from AED scientists about environmental research. Then, the scouts will apply the scientific method in a simple science project and explain their approach and results to an adult partner. The group will receive a facility tour that will include AED’s wet laboratory, wind turbines, solar panels, and vegetated roof. This event is being coordinated by Mark Tagliabue, Russ Ahlgren, and Anne Kuhn.
