Environmental Technology Verification (ETV) Program

ETV Verified Technologies

The ETV Program has verified the performance of 406 innovative environmental technologies that can be used to monitor, prevent, control, and clean up pollution. See the full list of ETV verified technologies.

ETV Receives Support From EPA Environmental Technology Council for Verification of Water Monitoring Systems
The ETV Advanced Monitoring Systems (AMS) Center, operated in cooperation with Battelle, has received support from the EPA Environmental Technology Council (ETC) to fund four proposals for verification of water monitoring technologies.  The proposals are:  Evaluation of Nitrate Sensors for Groundwater Remediation Monitoring, Pathogen Monitors for E. coli and Total Coliforms in Water, Testing Toxic Blue-Green Algae for Microcystins in Freshwater Sources, and Monitoring Technologies for Measuring Stored Carbon Dioxide from Sequestration Applications.  All four projects will involve AMS testing of novel and potentially cost-effective monitoring technologies to provide results in short time frames.  These four proposals were selected from more than 20 monitoring technology proposals submitted to the ETC for consideration.  For more information, contact John McKernan, EPA, at (513) 569-7415 or mckernan.john@epa.gov.

Technical Panel Solicitation
ETV Canada and the U.S. EPA ETV Advanced Monitoring Systems (AMS) Center are planning joint verification testing of airborne remote sensing detection technologies for methane and ethane leaks in gas pipelines.  In preparation for testing, ETV Canada and the AMS Center are soliciting technical input on the technology-specific test plan(s) that will be developed for this international joint verification.  A technical panel teleconference will be conducted in late May to gather input on the technology-specific test plan(s).  Interested participants should contact Ken Cowen, Battelle, at (614) 424-5547 or cowenk@battelle.org, or Steve Guerin, ETV Canada, at (905) 822-4133 ext. 228 or sguerin@oceta.on.ca, with questions or interest in participating on the teleconference by no later than Friday, May 15.
