Agencywide Energy Consumption and Intensity Data Tables

Compared to EO 13123 FY 1990 baseline
Executive Order (EO) 13123 (which has since been superseded by EO 13423) required industrial and laboratory facilities to reduce energy intensity by 20 percent by FY 2005 compared to an FY 1990 baseline. The tables below illustrate EPA’s performance in meeting this FY 2005 requirement. The first table does not account for EPA’s green power purchases; the second table does, however, “net out” the Agency’s green power purchases. To help stimulate the green power market, the U.S. Department of Energy allows agencies to subtract, or “net out,” its purchases of renewable energy from agencywide total energy consumption to meet energy reduction requirements.
