Federal Greenhouse Gas Requirements Archive

The following federal greenhouse gas (GHG)-related requirements have been superseded by newer requirements.

Signed in 1999 and superseded by EO 13423 in 2007, EO 13123, Greening the Government Through Efficient Energy Management, established the following GHG reduction requirement for federal agencies:

Reduce GHG emissions related to facility energy consumption by 30 percent by fiscal year (FY) 2010 relative to an FY 1990 baseline.
