Enforcement

Air pollution laws and regulations are monitored and enforced by federal, state, and local agencies. The state and local agencies, however, usually bear the burden of most compliance and enforcement efforts. In this unit we will discuss the basic mechanisms used to monitor compliance with air pollution laws and regulations. We will also cover the enforcement tools available to air pollution control agencies.
