Multi-Year Workplan for Registration of Conventional Pesticides - New Use

New Use Candidates for Already-Registered Chemicals

Multi-Year Workplan Candidates List
Resources for Conventional Pesticides

The listing below identifies the pending conventional new use actions which have been received by the U.S. EPA's Office of Pesticide Programs (OPP) under the Pesticide Registration Improvement Act (PRIA) and the Pesticide Registration Improvement Renewal Act (PRIRA or PRIA II). For many active ingredients in this table, the Agency has included with the review of the PRIA action additional new use registration actions which are pending at the Agency. This practice of "bundling" allows an efficient use of Agency resources and decreases the backlog of registration actions that were pending at the Agency prior to PRIA. This listing will be updated as registration decisions on these actions are made and additional conventional new use submissions are received. The OPP Expected Completion defaults to the quarter in which the PRIA Due Date falls, although it is possible a decision will be reached prior to this time frame. As the review schedules are finalized, the work plan will be updated to reflect these changes. Work-sharing arrangements with other regulatory agencies and Agency priorities such as reduced risk , methyl bromide alternative, and OP alternative actions are indicated in the "Comments" column. Under PRIA, reduced risk registration actions receive an expedited time frame for review.

1As of October 1, 2009, the public can review and comment on the risk assessments and proposed registration decisions for certain pesticide registration actions. This public process, which expands the transparency of the Agency's pesticide registration decisions, applies to new pesticide active ingredients, and to the first food use, first outdoor use, and first residential use for currently registered active ingredients.

2The Agency does not register a food use pesticide product without first having a legally enforceable residue level (tolerance) established for residues of the pesticide on that food. In situations where the tolerance has not yet published in the Federal Register, the signed tolerance document is made available to the registrant and State partners.
