Microbial Commercial Activity Notice (MCAN) for Confidential Business Information (CBI) Microorganism from a CBI Company
On August 5, 2004, the Office of Pollution Prevention and Toxics (OPPT) received a Microbial Commercial Activity Notice (MCAN) from a Confidential Business Information (CBI) company submitted under the biotechnology regulations promulgated under the Toxic Substances and Control Act (62 FR 17910 (April 11, 1997); codified at 40 C.F.R. Part 725). The MCAN was given the EPA tracking designation J-04-04. The recipient microorganism is CBI. The generic name for the new microorganism is “recombinant microorganism”. This microorganism will be used to manufacture a chemical substance.
