Microbial Commercial Activity Notice (MCAN) for modified Trichoderma reesei from Novozymes, North America, Inc.
On December 1, 2006, the Office of Pollution Prevention and Toxics (OPPT) received a Microbial Commercial Activity Notice (MCAN) from Novozymes, North America, Inc., submitted under the biotechnology regulations promulgated under the Toxic Substances Control Act (62 FR 17910 (April 11, 1997); codified at 40 C.F.R. Part 725). The MCAN was given the EPA tracking designation J-07-1. The recipient microorganism is a Trichoderma reesei strain modified from the wild-type. The generic name for the new microorganism is Trichoderma reesei strain CBI. This microorganism will be used for the synthesis of a cellulose-degrading protein preparation.
