Nanotechnology Science Policy Article

Jeff Morris and co-authors from EPA, the European Commission, and the OECD published in Nature Nanotechnology, "Science Policy Considerations for Responsible Nanotechnology Decisions." The article describes the similarities and differences that US and European regulators face in using science to inform policy decisions about nanomaterials. EPA and ILSI Research Foundation Parntership

EPA and the International Life Sciences Institute (ILSI) Research Foundation are partnering with other stakeholders to explore current understanding of methods for measuring release of nanomaterials from coatings and objects used in commercial products. The project will go on to generate better methods where needed. It is hoped that the project will build confidence in decisions about sustainable nanomaterial selection.

Nanotechnology Conference Proceedings

The proceedings from EPA's International Environmental Nanotechnology Conference, held Oct. 2008 in Chicago, have been published and are available online. The proceedings are compiled into two volumes.

    The proceedings contain scientific papers by the authors on the latest research on environmental nanotechnology by the authors who presented at the conference. The work is international in scope with more than 80 presentations by scientists and engineers from 5 continents and 12 countries.
