Best Practices in Research and Development Prioritization, Management, and Evaluation: A Science of Science Policy Workshop

Background:
The Executive Office of the President through the Office of Science and Technology Policy is fostering a Science of Science Policy (SoSP) community to better understand the efficacy and impact of federal R&D investments. In December 2008, over 200 people gathered to discuss the Science of Science Policy: A Federal Research Roadmap (PDF) (52pp, 3.75MB, About PDF) and begin a dialogue between academic researchers and federal practitioners. The second Science of Science Policy Workshop will continue this dialogue and delve into the issues surrounding performance management of federal research and development portfolios.

The overarching goal of this workshop is to share current practices in federal R&D prioritization, management, and evaluation. To this end 27 speakers and panelists, representing 20 federal agencies, offices, and institutions, and 30+ posters presenters, representing 25+ agencies and institutions, will be sharing their Best Practices and experience, including:
