ETV Verified Technologies
The ETV Program has verified the performance of 460 innovative environmental technologies that can be used to monitor, prevent, control, and clean up pollution. See the full list of ETV verified technologies.

Field Portable Ion Chromatograph Verified

The ETV Advanced Monitoring Systems (AMS) Center, operated by Battelle, has verified the performance of a field portable ion chromatograph, the Applikon Analytical BV Monitor for Aerosols and Gases in Ambient Air (MARGA) ADI 2080.  The verification evaluated the ability of the MARGA to provide reliable quantitative measurements of soluble gases and aerosols species in air during continuous and largely unattended operation.  The MARGA system was evaluated based on quantitative performance goals set for EPA’s Clean Air Status and Trends Network (CASTNET).  MARGA performance was verified for the following parameters:  accuracy, precision, data completeness, reliability, and operational factors such as maintenance requirements, ease of use, consumables used, and waste generated.  Associated CASTNET target goals for the above parameters are outlined in the verification report and statement which will be available soon on the Advanced Monitoring Systems Center Verified Technologies webpage.

Mold-Resistant Insulation Product Verified

ETV’s Environmental and Sustainable Technology Evaluation (ESTE) project for Microbial-Resistant Building Materials has verified the performance of the AP Armaflex Black, a mold-resistant insulation product manufactured by Armacell LLC.  According to the vendor’s description, Armaflex Roll Insulation is a flexible closed-cell, fiber-free elastomeric thermal insulation made with Microban antimicrobial product protection.  Mold resistance testing was performed following the guidelines outlined in ASTM 6329, which provides a quantitative endpoint for mold growth in a well-controlled, static chamber environment.  During a 12 week period, ETV determined mold growth on Armaflex insulation samples which had been inoculated with two test organisms, Stachybotrys chartarum and Asperguillus versicolor.  Additional measurements, including volatile organic compound and aldehyde emissions were also performed using ASTM D5116-06.  The verification report and statement will be available soon on the Environmental and Sustainable Technology Evaluations (ESTE) webpage.

Baghouse Filtration Product Verified

The ETV Air Pollution Control Technology (APCT) Center, operated by RTI International, has verified the performance of a baghouse filtration product for control of fine particulate matter (PM2.5) emissions:  FT-806 Filtration Media developed by Sinoma Science & Technology Co., Ltd.  The center verified the following aspects of filter fabric performance:  filter outlet PM2.5 concentration, filter outlet total mass concentration, pressure drop, filtration cycle time, and mass gain on the filter fabric.  The verification reports and statements will be available soon on the Air Pollution Control Technology Center Verified Technologies webpage.
