Superfund and Technology Liaison, Region 4

Felicia Barnett

Felicia Barnett is the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Region 4 Superfund and Technology Liaison in the Office of Research and Development (ORD). She is the ORD resource for investigation and remediation technologies/performance and engineering / liaison technical support to EPA Region 4. Region 4 covers the states of Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee. She provides expertise to the Region's waste programs on investigative, subsurface / groundwater, and engineering technical support and innovative technologies, most specifically for pesticides, brownfields, wood treaters, metals, and phytoremediation along with national contacts within ORD for those and other fields / wastes.

She joined the EPA in 1985 as a Site Assessment Manager for the Superfund Program. She later worked as a Remedial Project Manager for Hazardous Waste Site cleanups and has worked for the last ten years in the Office of Research and Development as an innovative technology and support liaison. She is a member of the ORD Regional and Local Land Revitalization Planning Team (previously the ORD Brownfields Workgroup) and the US-German Bilateral Working Group, which are responsible for developing, promoting, and providing support for SMARTe, the Sustainable Management Approaches and Revitalization Tool-electronic, a national support tool to assist land revitalization stakeholders in their decision making process.

Felicia holds a BS degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville.
