Maggie LaVay began her career in EPA in 1995. She joined the Office of Science Policy in July 2002, as a member of the Water Program Support and now serves as the Regional Science Coordinator for RSLs and STLs. Prior to this position, Maggie worked in the Office of Ground Water and Drinking Water. There she was a technical manager for several supporting documents for the Stage 1 and 2 Disinfectants and Disinfection Byproducts rules as well as leading the research coordination with ORD.

Prior to joining EPA, Maggie was an environmental consultant for several years and served as an Information Specialist on EPA's Wetland's and Safe Drinking Water Act Hotlines. Before that, she worked as a Geotechnical Engineer for the Construction Soils Consulting Company running the company's laboratory. Maggie earned a B.S. Degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Maryland.
