March 8, 1999 Document Released for Stakeholder Review and Comment Update of Hot Soak Emissions Analysis EPA Report Number EPA420-P-99-005 MOBILE Report Number M6.EVP.004 The Office of Mobile Sources, Assessment and Modeling Division announces the release of "Update of Hot Soak Emissions Analysis" for stakeholder review and comment. This document is available at the MOBILE6 section of the OMS Web Site (http://www.epa.gov/oms/models.htm). "Hot soak" emissions are evaporative hydrocarbon emissions from vehicles in the hour after a trip's end. This document incorporates the findings of two studies conducted by Automotive Testing Laboratories, one on behalf of EPA., the other for Oil/Auto Air Quality Improvement Research Program (AQIRP) to develops hot soak emission estimates at low RVP values. We propose using these estimates in MOBILE6. Comments on this report and its proposed use in MOBILE6 should be sent to the attention of Terry Newell.
