EcoCAR Workshop and Laboratory Testing
The EcoCAR spring workshop will be held at EPA's National Vehicle and Fuel Emissions Laboratory (NVFEL), in Ann Arbor, MI. During the workshop, EPA will open its doors to the testing facilities and work with students to test their vehicles on EPA's chassis dynamometers. The workshop will include Technology Track Sessions (H2, E85, Diesel, and Electric), tours of the facility, and ride-and-drive opportunities of student vehicles. The chassis dynamometer testing will include emissions measurement, fuel consumption calculation, and electric range and battery capacity analysis. The testing will be done in two test groups.
In addition, EPA will also play host to a Spring Workshop at the Eagle Crest Marriott Resort in Ypsilanti during the period for vehicle testing. The Spring Workshop will include technology track sessions, tours of NVFEL, and ride-and-drive opportunities in EcoCAR team vehicles for select VIPs and media.
