Amendments to Vehicle Inspection Maintenance Program Requirements Incorporating the Onboard Diagnostic Check (PDF) (173K)
Notice of Proposed Rulemaking signed September 12, 2000, and published in the Federal Register September 20, 2000. Proposes to extend deadline for implementing OBD checks in I/M programs for one year. The notice also proposes to revise failure and rejection criteria and clarifies that dual testing of OBD-equipped vehicles is neither recommended nor required.Contact:
