Minnesota Trucking Association
Roseville, Minnesota

 Winner, 2006 SmartWay Excellence Award

The Minnesota Trucking Association (MTA) is a 501(c)(6) non-profit trade association that has represented the interests of Minnesota’s motor carrier industry since 1932. The MTA has almost 700 member companies and is the Minnesota affiliate of the American Trucking Associations. MTA’s mission is to provide advocacy, information, and services to ensure safe transportation and a successful Minnesota trucking industry.

MTA has taken an active role in educating its members about the Partnership, and, thanks in part to its efforts, 10% of all SmartWay Carriers are based in Minnesota. MTA’s specific accomplishments under SmartWay include:

• recruiting 17 new SmartWay Carriers
• hosting a press event which attracted substantial local media coverage
• placing SmartWay articles in its membership newsletter
• promoting SmartWay at several industry and state-wide conferences

"The Minnesota Trucking Association is proud to play a part in bringing the SmartWay Transport Partnership to Minnesota. We will continue to encourage our member companies to enroll in the program and help us exhibit to Minnesotans the trucking industry’s commitment to improving the state’s air quality and promoting a cleaner environment.”

— John Hausladen, President, Minnesota Trucking Association
