MPG Range for SmartWay Class 5 Fleets

Posted November 26, 2012

Class 5 trucks are often seen in the form of mid-sized local package delivery trucks. This chart, based on 2011 Carrier Partner data covering all fuel types, shows that average fuel efficiency for Class 5 SmartWay fleets can range from about 5 to 14 miles per gallon. The line is made up of individual points, each of which corresponds to a fleet's average fuel efficiency. To preserve confidentiality, no fleet name is associated with any data point.
