The symbol on the cover of this report was developed in Washington State by a group of
state and federal agencies working in cooperation with a private real estate firm, Port Blakely
Mill Company. It is available free of charge for use in any program dealing with wetland
preservation and enhancement. To date, organizations in 33 states are using the symbol. For more
