Yakama Nation Pilot Program
Proper disposal of old appliances from tribal lands helps protect the ozone layer and climate system, and provides benefits to the community. In particular, tribes can help prevent illegal dumping of refrigerators and freezers on tribal lands. In 2009, the RAD Program conducted a small-scale refrigerator/freezer recycling program with the Yakama Nation Solid Waste Department.
