Substitutes are reviewed on the basis of ozone depletion potential, global warming potential, toxicity, flammability, and exposure potential. Lists of acceptable and unacceptable substitutes are updated several times each year. A chronological list of SNAP updates is also available.

HCFC-141b	All	Alternatives exist with lower or zero-ODP. Exemptions exist for (1) the use of HCFC-141b for space vehicle, nuclear and defense foam applications, (2) the use of HCFC-141b for laboratory research and development applications for foreign customers and (3) the use of fully formulated HCFC-141b foam systems in inventory before January 1, 2005, until July 1, 2005.
