OPA Review of Web Concepts and Drafts:
What We Look For
All EPA Web Sites
EPA Web Sites are expected to follow EPA’s:
- Web Site Standards
http://yosemite.epa.gov/oei/webguide.nsf/standards-guidance - Standard Look and Feel
http://www.epa.gov/epafiles/ - Writing for the Web Requirements
http://www.epa.gov/productreview/writing/writing_handout.html
Concepts for New Sites
Before submitting a concept for a new site:
- Verify that no one else at EPA.gov has developed the idea before
- Identify the purpose of the site
- Tie to Agency Strategic plan or Administrator’s priorities
- Identify one or two primary audiences (three max)
- Identify two to five information needs/primary tasks of the primary audiences
- Include proposed URL. Proposed URLs and aliases (Web addresses) should be as simple as possible. Do not include organizational acronyms (for example, use www.epa.gov/seleniumcriteria rather than www.epa.gov/ost/seleniumcriteria. Information about creating aliases (http://yosemite.epa.gov/OEI/webguide.nsf/create/alias) is located in the EPA Web Guide, as is the form to request an alias. (http://intranet.epa.gov/webmast3/webguide/aliasform.html).
New sites will follow the process for New/Redesigned sites at:
