About Us

The EPA Quality System provides the framework for planning, implementing, documenting, and assessing work performed by the Agency and for carrying out required quality assurance and quality control activities. Oversight for EPA’s Quality System is delegated to the Director of the Quality Staff within the EPA Office of Environmental Information.  The Quality Staff consists of approximately 17 professionals who work in the areas of Policy and Evaluation, Operations and Outreach, and the Information Quality Guidelines process.  Learn more about us through our vision, mission, and functional statements.

  • Develop Agency-wide policy, procedures, standards, and guidance relating to the collection, production, and use of environmental data
  • Oversee the EPA Quality Program
  • Oversee Agency-wide implementation of the Information Quality Guidelines.
