The Nonpoint Source Management Program
The Watershed Protection Branch
of the Georgia Environmental Protection Division (GAEPD) manages water quality in Georgia and works to control nonpoint sources of pollution, including erosion and sedimentation, and storm water discharges. The Georgia Nonpoint Source Management Program awards Section 319(h) Grant funds to implement projects designed to prevent, control and/or abate nonpoint source pollution.
Under Section 319 of the Clean Water Act, Georgia has been awarded more than $65,000,000 to protect and restore water quality. The grant awards are supplemented by a 40% nonfederal match from the State.
