Targeted Grants to Reduce Childhood Lead Poisoning

Purpose To conduct activities designed to reduce incidences of childhood lead poisoning in vulnerable populations.
Eligible Applicants State, local, commonwealth territorial govts; federally-recognized tribes, federally recognized tribal consortia; private and state institutions of higher learning; non-profit organizations with 501(c) (3) status.
Award Amount $25,000-$100,000
Total Awarded in Fiscal Year No grant funds awarded under this program in FY-12.

Application Due Selection
EPA HQ to determine if program funds are potentially available for FY-13 funded projects.
Priorities
  • Address areas with high incidences of elevated blood-levels
  • Identify and address areas with high potential for heretofore undocumented elevated blood-levels
  • Develop tools to address unique and challenging issues in lead poisoning prevention
  • Identify tools that are replicable and scalable for other areas.
