Building a Stronger Fresno

The City of Fresno was one of six cities nationwide to be selected for the Strong Cities, Strong Communities initiative. As part of the effort, employees of EPA and other federal agencies will work alongside city officials to encourage economic growth and community development.

Green Jobs Funding to Aid South Tucson

The City of South Tucson was awarded a $300,000 grant from EPA for green jobs training. The city will use the funds to recruit, train, and place unemployed, predominantly low-income residents in jobs to clean up polluted sites for reuse.

California High-Speed Rail Goes Green

EPA has joined the California High-Speed Rail Authority and other federal agencies in signing an agreement for sustainable planning and design of the proposed 800 miles of track. EPA led efforts to create the agreement, which will provide a venue for partner agencies to jointly work toward sustainability goals.
