Earth Day River Cleanup - Mystic River
Groundwork Somerville and the Mystic River Watershed Association are joining forces to clean the Mystic River in Somerville. Head to the park along the Mystic River (park in front of Staples/Christmas Tree Shop at Assembly Sq.) from 9:00am to 12:30pm to lend a hand. Supplies will be provided, but additional tools and gloves are welcome.

Mystic Community Earth Day - Malden/Everett
Tri-City Community Action Program, Inc. (Tri-CAP) is partnering with Bike to the Sea, Groundwork Somerville, and Cambridge Health Alliance to organize a trail clearing and clean-up around the proposed Northern Strand Community Trail between Medford Street in Malden and Prescott Street in Everett, as well as Cambridge Health Alliance's adjacent Malden River trail area from 11:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. Supplies will be provided, but additional tools and gloves are welcome. Refreshments will be available for volunteers at a riverfront picnic around 1:00 p.m. This event is part of the regional Mystic Community Earth Day, a collaborative effort by several organizations in the Mystic River Watershed to jointly host and promote Earth Day events.

Earth Day Festival-Tread Lightly
Join us at the Massabesic Audubon Center as we celebrate Earth Day. This fun-filled day will feature a live peregrine falcon, Karen Lincoln and her composting puppet show, and a craft table where you can build a bird house! Also featured are Earl Tuson from the Red Manse Farm to talk about Community Supported Agriculture, Sarah Hall and her line of herbal products, and John O'Neil, a forester with the Manchester Water Works.

Audubon Earth Day 2011
Celebrate planet Earth and explore those special places around the state that are only accessible by foot. Take a nighttime stroll, search for salamanders, explore a salt marsh, discover the rocky shore of Narragansett Bay, or bring the kids on a family nature hike.
