EPA's approval of CO maintenance plan and redesignation request was effective
on October 22, 2002.
State Submittal:
SIP revisions dated August 7, 1998, December 10, 1999, and January 15,
2002.
Affected Areas:
New Jersey portion of the New York-Northern New Jersey-Long Island Carbon
Monoxide (CO) nonattainment area.
Summary:
EPA is approving New Jersey's request for redesignating the New Jersey
portion of the New York-Northern New Jersey-Long Island CO nonattainment
area to attainment, because the State has demonstrated compliance with
the requirements of section 107(d)(3)(E) for redesignation. EPA is also
approving the New Jersey CO maintenance plan because it meets the requirements
set forth in section 175A of the CAA. In addition, EPA is approving the
New Jersey CO attainment demonstration that was submitted on August 7,
1998. Finally, EPA is approving the 2007 and 2014 transportation conformity
budgets found in New Jersey's CO maintenance plan and the 1997 transportation
conformity budget submitted on December 10, 1999 as an addendum to New
Jersey's August 7, 1998 CO attainment demonstration.
