EPA's approval of a 1 year attainment date extension was effective on
January 6, 1997.
State Submittal:
April 24, 1996 request from New Jersey to extend the CO attainment date
by one year.
Affected Areas:
Northern New Jersey portion of the New York-Northern New Jersey-Long Island
CMSA (NYCMSA).
Summary:
The states of New Jersey, New York and Connecticut failed to attain the
CO NAAQS in the NYCMSA, but met the criteria in section 186(a)(4) of the
Clean Air Act for a one year extension.
