Re: Southern New Jersey Pollution Prevention and Compliance Assistance Workshop for Colleges and Universities, November 29, 2000
Greetings:
As we announced in our myriad previous mailings, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Region 2, as a part of a special initiative, is currently conducting inspections of colleges and universities within our region (New York, New Jersey, Puerto Rico, & U.S. Virgin Islands) to determine their compliance with hazardous waste and other environmental regulations. For questions regarding this initiative, please contact Carl Plossl, University Initiative Coordinator, at (212) 637-4137 or plossl.carl@epa.gov.
This Southern New Jersey Pollution Prevention and Compliance Assistance Workshop for Colleges and Universities is sponsored by EPA and Rutgers State University of New Jersey and supported by the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection. It will be held November 29, 2000 at the Rutgers Camden Campus Center (North Conference Room, North Penn St., Camden, NJ). A registration form, workshop agenda, and transportation directions are attached.
Registration forms can be faxed to the EPA Compliance Assistance and Program Support Branch at (212) 637-4086. Additional information on the workshops is available by contacting Diane D. Buxbaum, Environmental Scientist, USEPA at (212) 637-3919 or buxbaum.diane@epa.gov.
As before, we would urge you to take advantage of the EPA's Audit Policy to identify any violations and to voluntarily correct them prior to our inspection.
If you have questions or need more information about the audit policy, please contact John Wilk, Self-Disclosure Policy Coordinator, at (212) 637-3918 and wilk.john@epa.gov, or Diane D. Buxbaum, University Environmental Compliance Assistance Coordinator, at (212) 637-3919.
Sincerely yours,
