2009 EPA / Region 4 States’ Solid Waste & Recycling Meeting

The 2009 EPA / States' Solid Waste and Recycling Managers Meeting was held September 29 - October 1, 2009 at the Hilton Atlanta Airport Hotel in Atlanta, GA. The annual conference provided a networking opportunity for state government recycling managers and solid waste managers in the Southeast Region to share information, and to integrate solid waste and recycling programs. Presentations during the meeting are included.

 

Social Marketing

Social marketing is the systematic application of marketing, along with other concepts and techniques, to achieve specific behavioral goals for a social good: in this case, recycling. Social marketing involves a behavior change approach in recycling. It also involves commercial marketing techniques and concepts that further promote recycling to the audience.

Multi Family Recycling Programs

The Building Multi-Family Recycling Programs Exit EPA Disclaimer in Georgia toolkit provides guidance, technical assistance, and resources for property managers and local government recycling managers who wish to increase recycling at multi-family complexes. While developed specific to the State of Georgia, the toolkit will be useful for interested users throughout the Southeast and beyond.
