Regional Information Sensitivity (RIS) Training
Welcome to Region 4's computer-generated Regional Information Sensitivity (RIS) training course. This training will satisfy your regional training and certification/renewal requirements for Confidential Business Information (CBI).This training will provide basic procedures for handling confidential information. It is not intended to supersede various statutes (i.e., TSCA, FIFRA, RCRA) which contain special provisions concerning confidential treatment of information nor any procedures developed by the program offices to comply with such statutes. If a situation arises that is not covered by a specific statute or program office procedures, but is addressed in this training, the relevant procedures in this training apply and must be followed.
This training will focus on the information that EPA generates and receives that is sensitive. It is designed to help you identify what types of information are confidential and know what general approaches you should take to protect this information.
We hope you find this training to be informative and helpful. There are
a few quizzes, but don’t get nervous, we’ve designed it so
that you can’t fail. You will probably complete this training within
one hour. When you have finished the training, forward the completed CBI Access
Authorization Form to your Division/Branch Chief and the Document Control
Officer (DCO) for signature, and then forward to our Regional Records Management Program.
