A few of the 500 drums found at the site contained hazardous materials with radioactive content. They have been separated from the laboratory chemicals and will be sent to appropriate disposal facilities.
Some of the drums were found in a partially excavated area near the fire-damaged pole-barn. This is the excavated area once the drums were removed.
Several dozen drums moved from where they were found and now ready for sampling by EPA contractors.
