Area 1 In-situ Vapor Extraction Treatment
Work is scheduled to begin in spring 2003 to treat the remaining 17 grids within Area 1 using vapor extraction. These soils are contaminated with Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) in concentrations that exceed regulatory levels. That treatment procedure is expected to last about 18 months.
