CAED Office of Strategic Planning and Analyses

The Office of Strategic Planning and Analyses (SPA) also known as The Office of the Associate Director for CAED is responsible for managing several mulit-media and cross-program activities in the Compliance Assurance and Enforcement Division. This office is responsible for strategic planning and enforcement coordination based on environmental data analyses; tracking and analysis of regional enforcement and compliance activities; lead for the Integrated Compliance Information System from the Office of Enforcement and Compliance Assistance. SPA also includes inspection and enforcement eTraining and information technology support.

The Office of Planning and Coordination is also located within SPA and is responsible for the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) compliance. It reviews Environmental Impact Statements, environmental information documents, prepares Environmental Assessments (RODs - record of decisions) and, issues Finding of No Significant Impact. This office also has the regional coordination lead for the National Prehistoric Preservation Act and the Endangered Species Act. It coordinates and handles all compliance assistance activities in Region 6.

Air/Toxics Enforcement works with state, local and tribal governments, other federal agencies, businesses and community groups to implement and enforce the CAA regulations.

Hazardous Waste Enforcement provides guidance on all aspects of managing hazardous wastes and chemical substances; and offer compliance assistance to citizens, facilities, States, and Tribes.

Water Enforcement assures compliance and takes appropriate enforcement action against facilities for violations of the Clean Water and Safe Drinking Water acts, including concentrated animal feed lots, stormwater. Additional water quality information in Region 6 such as permits and grants.
