EPA seeks to promote the reuse of sites by removing barriers to reuse, providing helpful information and assistance to the public, and engendering support for reusing formerly contaminated sites within EPA and the public at large. EPA Headquarters and EPA Region 7 have developed a number of tools and information sources to help communities, governments, developers, and organizations interested in reusing formerly contaminated properties. The tools are divided into six broad categories. Within each of these categories, the tools are divided into subcategories by site type, as the tools and information that can assist in revitalization efforts vary depending on the type of site in question. Each subcategory link leads to Regional or National EPA programs that provide lists of tools and information intended to support site reuse.
