Colorado

2012 Auraria Campus Sustainability Fair
April 23rd, 2012 from 10am to 4pm.

In addition to live entertainment, local food, and great prizes, this year’s fair featured the "Closed Loop Food Cycle." Come learn about our food system, what's unsustainable about it, and how we can fix it for the health of our community and our planet! There will also be many vendors and organizations representing each of the Sustainable Campus Program’s categories including renewable energy, energy efficiency, water efficiency, alternative transportation, waste diversion, and food/gardens.

2012 Clark Fork River Clean Up
9th Annual River Cleanup on Saturday, April 21, 2012.  Meet at Caras Park by 10 am to join up with a team, and spend the morning cleaning up trash and recycling on a stretch of the Clark Fork in Missoula.  FREE BBQ back at Caras at 12 noon.

March for Parks at Makoshika State Park near Glendive, MT

March for Parks is the nation's largest grassroots event for parks and open spaces and is the longest-running annual nationwide Earth Day event. The annual 4-mile walk raised awareness of the importance of open spaces and raises funds for park improvements and interpretive programs at Makoshika State Park.

Zion Canyon 8th Annual Earth Day Celebration

Live solar powdered music and a farmer’s market were accompanied by vendors, activities and demonstrations about native plant sources, alternative energy, “Leave No Trace” principles, solar oven demonstrations, environmental art and sustainable products. Kids can participate in games and a reading of Dr. Suess’ “The Lorax”.
