The Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) allows you to obtain information from various agencies of the federal government, including EPA. For general information about the types of information available, how to make a request, and potential costs, please visit EPA's FOIA home page.
EPA's on-line FOIA submission form is currently not available.
A new service will be available Monday, October 1, 2012.
EPA and a number of partner agencies are now using a shared service - FOIAonline - to receive FOIA requests electronically. This new system allows the public to search previous requests and access responsive documents that have been cleared for release. There are many new features available from this system and if you determine you need to submit a request to a participating agency, please consider creating an account to take advantage of the many features offered by FOIAonline, including modifying your request, communicating with the agency processing your request, and accessing responsive documents cleared for distribution all online, as well as presenting you a dashboard indicating the status of your requests and the ability to file an appeal online. We hope you find FOIAonline to be a useful tool in accessing your government and the information of interest to you.

FOIA status allows requesters to obtain the status of their FOIA requests.
EPA FOIA Contact Information and Web Sites provide a list of the FOIA contacts in the agency as well as access to regional FOIA Web sites.
Electronic FOIA Request Form is an online form for submitting a FOIA request for EPA documents.
Reference Guide provides information on the procedures for making a FOIA request to EPA.
Policy and Guidance contains the text of the FOIA, EPA's FOIA regulations, FOIA-related reports and other reference material.
MyPropertyInfo searches multiple EPA databases for information on an individual address with results provided in a single printer friendly report.
Reading Room contains final opinions made in the adjudication of administrative cases, Agency policy statements, frequently requested records and certain administrative staff manuals. Includes frequently requested files from Region 9.
Annual Reports lists annual reports to DOJ on EPA's FOIA processing activities and contain specific information on EPA’s processing of FOIA requests such as number of requests received in a fiscal year, the number of requests pending at the end of a fiscal year and costs of processing requests.
