About Waste Program & Contact Information
The Waste Management Division oversees, manages, and directs the activities related to the development and implementation of the hazardous waste, solid waste, pollution prevention, and underground storage tank programs under Subtitles C, D, and I of the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA).
Generally, the states are the primary implementers of these programs. To find out what regulatory requirements apply in your location and who your state contact is, see State and Local Partnerships.
Our Environmental Information Center (EIC) can be contacted for general environmental information, EPA publications, directions on using the Internet, and contacts for other agencies. The EIC is open from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. (Pacific Standard Time), Monday through Friday, and is closed on federal holidays.
It can be reached toll free at: (866) EPA-WEST (1-866-372-9378) or at (415) 947-8000.
The Waste Division Organizational Chart shows the structure of our division and the different programs it encompasses.
