Small Entities and Rulemaking
Section 610 Reviews
Section 610 of the Regulatory Flexibility Act (RFA) requires that an agency review each rule that has or will have a significant economic impact on a substantial number of small entities (SISNOSE) within ten years of promulgation. The table below lists Section 610 reviews in chronological order from the date they were begun. When EPA begins a retrospective review under Section 610, we announce it in our twice yearly Regulatory Agenda. (Learn more about the Regulatory Agenda.) When the review concludes, we announce that in the Regulatory Agenda, as well. The first two columns of the table below provide the citation and link for the appropriate Regulatory Agenda, and where possible a link to that Agenda. Use the Regulation Identifier Number (RIN) after each citation to locate the appropriate entry within the Regulatory Agenda. The third column lists the title of the rule that was reviewed. If the same rule also involved a Small Business Advocacy Review (SBAR) Panel, you will be able to click on the title to access more information.
