About SmartWay Trends, Indicators, and Partner Statistics (TIPS)

The SmartWay Trends, Indicators, and Partner Statistics (TIPS) page is a source of leading freight movement industry indicators and quick facts about current SmartWay Partner performance metrics. It is intended to be used by industry, academia, media, and others with an interest in goods movement sustainability and freight industry trends.

The TIPS site compiles and analyzes data from key segments of the freight transport industry, and presents it using informative graphics, charts and statistics, with links to related information. EPA will update the TIPS site periodically, so visit it often to see what's new.

The SmartWay TIPS website provides:

• A resource for SmartWay Partners, Affiliates, the media, and other stakeholders.
• A source of leading freight movement industry indicators and quick facts on current SmartWay Partner environmental performance metrics.
• Data that is not available from any other published sources besides EPA SmartWay.
• Detailed metrics about freight industry performance.
• Snapshots of companies' performance relative to other SmartWay partners.
