CO2 Equivalent Emissions Reduced by SmartWay Partners
Posted Aug 30, 2012
SmartWay Partners have collectively saved over 23 million metric tons of carbon dioxide (CO2) equivalents over the period from 2005 through 2011. Carbon dioxide equivalents, or “CO2E,” are used to scale the global warming potentials of various greenhouse gas emissions (including CO2 and other greenhouse gases) to represent them all in terms of their equivalence to the global warming potential of CO2. Because CO2 emissions are directly proportional to fuel consumption, this graph has the same curve as that seen in the preceding graph for fuel savings by SmartWay Partners.
