MPG Range for SmartWay Class 2B Fleets

Posted November 26, 2012

Class 2B trucks comprise the lightest of the heavy-duty truck classes. Often called "light heavy-duty trucks," they can fill the niche for fleets that typically move smaller freight. This chart is based on 2011 information reported by SmartWay Carriers and covers all fuel types. The line is made up of individual points, each of which corresponds to a SmartWay Class 2A fleet's average fuel efficiency, which ranges from about 6 to 22 miles per gallon. To preserve confidentiality, no fleet name is associated with any data point.
